Dr. Dobratz recently traveled to Kijabe, Kenya to perform surgeries on children with cleft lip and palate deformities. The trip was an incredible experience and he and his team were able to help 76 children with cleft lips and palates during the 2 week trip.  

Dr. Dobratz comments about the trip include, "It is incredibly rewarding to be able to help all of these young children.  I always enjoy seeing the immediate change that we can make in the lives of these kids and their families.  You can see the relief on the mother's faces when they were united with their children again after surgery."

Children as young as 3 months and as old as 20 years old underwent these life changing surgeries.  Children came from as far as 13 hours away.  Approximately 10 of the children came from a UN supported Somalian refugee camp, Dadaab. It is located just inside the Kenyan border next to Somalia.
